Additional Secretary of Local Government Division visits the Village Court in Kulaura

Mr. Masud Ahmad, Additional Secretary of Local Government Division observed activities of Village Courts at Tilagaon and Prithimpasa Union Parishads (UPs) of Kulaura upazila, Moulvibazar district on 13 April 2019. The overall purpose of the visit was to better understand zmajor activities of Activating Village Courts in Bangladesh Phase II Project (AVCB II) in making Village Courts more functional in the project areas.

Following screening documentations on Village Courts and discussions with UP’s chairmen and other representatives, Mr. Masud remarked, “Chairmen of UPs are performing activities of Village Courts following laws, rules to resolve petty disputes locally. As a result, people are getting justice within their locality from Village Courts.’’ He also wished successes of Village Courts. Chairmen of Tilagaon and Prithimpasa UPs, District facilitators of AVCB II and LGSP Project, UP secretaries, UP members, Village Court Assistants and local elites were present during the visit.
