During countrywide lockdowns due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the vital role of AVCB II project for supporting Union Parishads in making Village Courts more functional resolving petty disputes of rural people locally within minimal time and cost was postponed or disrupted. However, Village Court Assistants (VCAs), front players of the project in 1,080 unions were stand by the local administrations in assisting in nCOVID relief distribution. Their involvement was also visible in responding to recent super cyclone Amphan in awareness-raising, cyclone shelter management, etc. The newsletter will give you a glimpse of the engagement of AVCBII front liners beyond the Village Courts service.
