Stakeholder Consultations Reinforce Commitment to Strengthen Village Courts in Dinajpur and Panchagarh
Surayya Akhtar Jahan, Additional Secretary, Local Government Division (LGD), and National Project Director (NPD) of the AVCB Phase III Project, commended Dinajpur as one of the best-performing districts in Village Court implementation. She emphasized the importance of impartial leadership, adequate infrastructure, and women’s participation in ensuring justice at the grassroots level.
She made these remarks while attending the stakeholder consultation meetings on Village Courts (VCs) held on 28–29 October 2025 in Dinajpur and Panchagarh districts, chaired respectively by Md. Rafiqul Islam and Md. Sabet Ali, Deputy Commissioners and District Magistrates.
The events brought together officials from the Local Government Division, including Mohammad Fazle Azim, Joint Secretary, Md. Shamsul Haque, Joint Secretary, Bibhash Chakraborty, National Project Coordinator, and other local stakeholders.
Participants reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the Village Court system to enhance access to justice, reduce case backlogs, and promote good governance at the local level.
